Other Internet Radio Player Options

As with most new technologies, you'll find there are numerous ways to listen to OC Talk Radio and all the

other Internet Radio stations suddenly appearing on the Web.  These include:

1.  Free Internet Radio Programs  Most of these will NOT play our station today.  That's because they only play a limited number of

pre-selected stations.  Unfortunately, there are thousands of Internet Radio stations to chose from (including many "terrestrial" radio stations simultaneously "streaming" over the Internet and multitudes of Internet-only radio stations streaming live music, talk or both) and no way to move "up and down the dial" as you can with traditional radio signals (which are limited to a narrow range of available frequencies somewhere between "garage door openers" and "cell phone signals").

Unfortunately, It takes quite some time and effort to get added to all these different, pre-selected

lists of Internet Stations.  So for now, we have arranged to be included on one of the biggest, free

Internet Radio players: Radio Time.  Just type in "OC Talk Radio" or look under their genres "community" or "business".

The only "programmable radio player" that we've used and can recommend (both because it's free and easy) is Screamer Radio.

You can tune-in to our OC Talk Radio audio stream directly at: http://amber.streamguys.com:4850/live.m3u.

2.  Actual Internet Radios.  These are still somewhat of a novelty.  They are expensive ($150 to $200+) and need an Internet hookup.

Most are Wi-Fi enabled for wireless Internet connection. Most come with some sort of "internet radio directory".  If your favorite station is not listed in that directory, it won't play.

As mentioned above, we're fortunate to be listed in Radio Time.  This service is included on what CNET and others declare to be one of the best Internet Radios around: Logitech's Squeezebox series. They offer everything from a stand alone Internet Radio, to a bigger "boom box" version to a walkaround controller that hooks directly up to your home stereo.  All can be purchased thru our Amazon Store.

Any Internet Radio that includes the popular Reciva service will also play OC Talk Radio (since we're also listed with that directory of Internet Radio Stations).  Examples of this would be the Sangean RCR-8WF WiFi Internet Clock Radio (w/dual alarms and added

FM capability) or the Grace series of Internet Radios and Receivers (see below).  All can be purchased thru our Amazon Store.

ALL THESE UNITS ARE AVAILABLE THRU OUR AMAZON STORE (under "Internet Radio/Buy an Internet Radio")

3.  Or you can just keep listening thru our website by simply clicking on the large, "listen live" button on our home page.  This opens whatever audio player you have loaded onto your computer and automatically directs it to our "live stream" address.
